Pyramiden

The film is set in the middle of winter in Ystad and follows the middle-aged policeman Kurt Wallander as he investigates a drug-related case. The story begins with the death of his goddaughter, Eva, who has overdosed. It is discovered that the heroin in circulation is unusually strong, prompting Wallander to begin searching for those responsible. However, he faces resistance from his boss, who refuses to let him pursue the suspect he believes is behind the drug distribution and instead insists the investigation focus on another drug dealer named Yngve Holm. Defying his orders, Wallander repeatedly travels to Malmö in an attempt to solve the case. Eventually, he locates the person he suspected and takes photos of him, showing them to Emma, a friend of his goddaughter who is also involved in drug dealing. Emma takes Wallander to someone who claims to have seen the man in the photo. The man is identified as Heinrich Pasila. Wallander believes Pasila may be familiar from a previous murder case involving his goddaughter's mother, where the perpetrator was already identified.
