Synopsis
In this short film, pop artist Kesha offers insight into the creation of her 2017 album *Rainbow*. The film presents an intimate look at her songwriting process and the personal challenges she faced, including depression, insomnia, and an eating disorder. It documents her journey from hospital stays and time in rehabilitation to a performance of “Praying” at the 2018 GRAMMY® Awards. Kesha explains in the film that the album is titled *Rainbow* because, as she says, “after the storm, there’s a rainbow,” and that she wrote it as a message to herself that she could overcome her struggles. The film features music video clips, live performances, and footage of Kesha working with Ben Folds, the Dap-Kings, and Sandra Williams in the writing and recording process.
