Synopsis
*Redemption* tells the story of Stan "Tookie" Williams, founder of the Crips, an L.A. street gang. The film follows his descent into gang activity, his resulting prison sentence, and his later efforts in writing children's books that promote peace and nonviolent conflict resolution. These efforts earned him multiple Nobel Peace Prize nominations. After exhausting all available appeals, Tookie was executed by lethal injection.
