Respiro
Synopsis
Grazia is a free-spirited mother of three living on the isolated Mediterranean island of Lampedusa with her husband, Pietro, a shy fisherman. She exhibits signs of manic depression, alternating between moments of wild laughter and swimming half-naked in the sea and periods of withdrawal, such as curling up on her bed. Away from her, the adult members of her extended family quietly consider the possibility of sending her to a facility in northern Italy.
