Return from Olympus
Synopsis
Olympus is home to several major deities, including Zeus, the mighty ruler of the gods; his wife Hera, often described as treacherous; Apollo, the handsome god of music and prophecy; Poseidon, the ruler of the seas; Ares, the god of war; Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love; and Athena, the wise goddess of wisdom and warfare. Among them is Hercules, the illegitimate son of Zeus, who is both a demigod and a half-man. Before sunrise, he begs Zeus for permission to travel on Earth and is accompanied by an eagle, a cunning and insinuating creature. This is the same eagle that once pecked at Prometheus, whom Hercules later saved. Upon arriving on Earth, Hercules enters a temple dedicated to him and his twelve labors, where he recalls some of the feats he accomplished.
