Ricochets
Synopsis
Set in Poland in 1982 during the politically tense period of communist martial law, the film follows two coal miner brothers who respond to the repressive regime in contrasting ways. Tadek opts for a stance of neutrality, while Janek becomes involved in the democratic underground movement. Janek's request for Tadek to hide anti-government leaflets on the second anniversary of the 1980 Solidarity strikes sets off a chain of events that puts the brothers' loyalties and personal convictions to the test.
