Synopsis

In a violent, near-apocalyptic Detroit, the evil corporation Omni Consumer Products secures a contract from the city government to privatize the police force. To test their crime-eradicating cyborgs, the company deliberately puts street cop Alex Murphy into an armed confrontation with crime lord Boddicker, allowing them to use Murphy’s body to support their untested RoboCop prototype. But when RoboCop learns of the company's deception and the fate of his former identity, he begins to question his programming and the true nature of his existence.
