Sacrifices of the Heart
Synopsis
Katelyn "Kate" Weston, a country girl who became a lawyer and later joined a law firm in Los Angeles, specializes in representing minors who have committed violent crimes and are unable to find legal representation elsewhere. Over time, she grew distant from her family. Her estrangement continues until her older brother, Ryan, asks her to return to the family farm, which he now runs with their father, Thane, who has become increasingly forgetful. After Thane is officially diagnosed with severe Alzheimer's disease, Kate begins to understand how little she truly knows about her family. She realizes she has been running from her past since witnessing her mother's suicide when she was seven years old. She attempts to address these unresolved issues with Ryan and their father during Thane's remaining moments of clarity.
