Synopsis
Santosh, a newly widowed woman, inherits her husband's position as a police constable in the rural badlands of northern India through a government scheme. When a low-caste girl is found raped and murdered, Santosh is drawn into the investigation and placed under the guidance of Inspector Sharma, a charismatic feminist.
