Synopsis

As life expectancy rises in Western countries, so too do the rates of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and cancer, alongside a sharp increase in medication use. Does this mean that living to an old age requires consuming more and more drugs? Could there be an alternative? For over fifty years, doctors and biologists in Russia, Germany, and the United States have investigated a different therapeutic method: fasting. Their findings have been striking. Soviet researchers conducted extensive clinical studies on the health benefits of fasting, but these were published only in Russian and remain largely unknown in the West. More recently, young biologists at the University of Los Angeles have challenged conventional views by using molecular biology to demonstrate the significant effects of fasting. Their research suggests broad therapeutic potential, possibly including new approaches to treating cancer. If these scientists are correct, it may be necessary to reconsider current approaches to disease and treatment.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 14

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
