Synopsis
Using underwater photography, magnified close-ups, and footage captured through a microscope, the film reveals the intricate nature of the sea urchin. The viewer observes the sea urchin's mouth and the movement of its five teeth as they open and close. After a gelatin injection, the shell is removed to expose the internal muscle structure, digestive tube, and reproductive organs. Magnified views of the stems show suction cups at their ends, which extend and contract to aid in movement. Microscopic calcareous stems are visible, with jaws at their tips serving various functions. Cilia throughout the body are constantly in motion, agitating water and debris. The soundtrack features African music that evokes the rhythm of a shuffle dance.
