Searching for Planet 9
Synopsis
At the edge of our solar system, an immense planet is thought to lie. It is estimated to be five to ten times the size of Earth. Several international teams of scientists have been engaged in a competitive effort to detect it, exploring uncharted territories far beyond Neptune. The recent discovery of several dwarf planets, with unusual trajectories, has led astronomers to suspect the presence of this mysterious planet. Questions remain about why this enigmatic planet is so difficult to detect, what a ninth planet might reveal about our region of the universe, and whether it could help solve some of the mysteries surrounding our solar system.
