Synopsis

Newspaper reporter Rebecca Chandler, who feels she was given no fair chance to prove her worth during her three-year career, looks forward to a Hawaiian holiday with her fiancé, Ryan. Instead of a ring, he gives her walking orders, having found someone else. She then agrees once more to serve as the bachelor on duty during the Christmas season, tasked with writing the annual romantic non-news feel-good story about the elusive Secret Santa in the small town of Hamden, where the Christmas spirit is said to last all year. Her misfortunes follow her from Indianapolis: her car breaks down, and she can only find lodging in a home for the elderly without Internet access, and nobody is willing to help her unmask the Secret Santa. Soon she suspects it must be the only rich philanthropist in town, but the popular Mr. John Martin Carter refuses to grant her an interview and is not easily tricked, in fact repeatedly crosses paths with her without recognizing her.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 18

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
