Synopsis

Stephen Glass was a staff writer for The New Republic, a respected current events and policy magazine, and also contributed freelance feature articles to publications such as Rolling Stone, Harper's, and George. By the mid-1990s, his work had established him as one of the most sought-after young journalists in Washington. However, a series of unusual events—documented in Buzz Bissinger's September 1998 Vanity Fair article—brought his career to an abrupt halt.
