Synopsis

Shoichi Yomi fights to end a violent underworld conflict in Hiroshima but is severely injured and left in a vegetative state. Ten years later, he regains consciousness and visits his former sworn brother, Eto, in Shinjuku. Tagami, Yomi’s longtime enemy, is closely connected to the Okumura gang, which controls Shinjuku. Upon learning of Yomi's recovery, Tagami schemes to profit by manipulating the Okumura gang and a rival Taiwanese gang on the verge of war. At the same time, Yomi supports the Okumura gang in an effort to help Eto, who has misused the family's funds. Although events unfold as Tagami plans, in the turbulent city where crime and ambition collide, two outlaws rise to challenge the status quo.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 17

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
