Shop Look & Listen

In *J.T. Gimlet's Department Store*, the store is closed, and a group of mice, led by the same W.C. Fields–inspired mouse from *Little Blabbermouse*, go on a tour. They first visit the shoe department, where mules—both red and green—pop out of a box and bray at the audience. The tour continues to the art department, where Whistler's Mother is shown to be a capable whistler, The Thinker contemplates his tax return, and a painting of two Indians transforms into *The Last of the Mohicans*. In the housewares section, an automatic ashtray disposes of a cigar, prompting a fit of babbling from Blabbermouse. An automated poker table plays a full game, complete with a hidden ace up its sleeve. The tour ends in the gift-wrap department, where one robot measures ribbon and another wraps packages. This leads to another bout of babbling from Blabbermouse, who is then literally wrapped up—and later, after that fails to silence him, slapped with a "Do Not Open Until Xmas" sticker over his mouth.
