Synopsis
In 1899, during the Christmas season in St. Petersburg, the ice-covered rivers and canals of the capital are filled with festive activity. On the eve of the new century, individuals who are not meant to cross paths come together. They belong to different worlds: Matvey, the son of a lamplighter, whose only treasure is his silver-plated skates; and Alice, the daughter of a high-ranking official, who dreams of science. Each carries their own difficult life story, but after meeting by chance, they move forward together in pursuit of their dreams.
