Silver Wolf

In this family drama, a boy learns to cope with personal loss by forming a bond with a wild animal. Jesse, a 16-year-old, is struggling to rebuild his life after the death of his father, who perished while attempting to rescue him in the wilderness. He moves to live with his Uncle Roy in the rugged mountains of Washington State. While exploring the area, Jesse discovers and rescues a seriously wounded wolf. He forms a close connection with the animal, and although Roy recognizes the risks of caring for a wild creature, he reluctantly permits Jesse to keep it. Jesse, who enjoys snowboarding, trains the wolf to participate in skijoring, a sport in which a dog pulls a person on skis. John Rockwell, the owner of a nearby ranch, views the wolf as a threat to his livestock and insists that the animal be euthanized.
