Synopsis

In the early 1970s, at a mental institution near the Russian border, a deranged doctor known as Dr. Anderson adopted the identity of "the Auteur" and began murdering his patients while filming the acts. Thirty years later, an American film crew arrives at the same hospital to shoot a horror movie inspired by these tragic events. The director, Steven, is committed to making the film as authentic as possible, a pursuit that takes a disturbing turn when his Finnish sound technicians uncover a hidden room in the hospital's basement. Inside, they find the original snuff films shot by "the Auteur," remarkably well-preserved. As Steven becomes increasingly obsessed, his cast and crew grow concerned about his mental state. The situation escalates when Steven discovers the actual camera used by "the Auteur," at which point he adopts the role of the murderous doctor, and real violence begins.

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 17

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
