Socorro Nobre
Synopsis
When inmate Maria do Socorro Nobre reads an article about the Polish artist Franz Krajcberg in *Veja* magazine, she decides to write him a letter. Socorro is serving a sentence of more than twenty-one years at a women's prison in Salvador, Bahia. Franz is a tormented artist who lost his family and spent his childhood in a ghetto in Poland, surviving the Holocaust. He later moved to Brazil and found a renewed will to live by living close to nature, which inspires Socorro to dream about life again.
