Stille Nacht, raue Nacht

Liane, a rational climate researcher, finds herself unsettled by the incense cleansing rituals, dream diaries, and wish lists meant to be burned that are part of esoteric practices. At a winter solstice party hosted by her older sister Svea just before Christmas, Liane is introduced to a world very different from her own. There, she meets Mani, who is on a spiritual path and somehow manages to intrigue her despite their differences. Her relationship with her long-term boyfriend, Philipp, is already strained; after an argument, he flies to Gomera alone. Liane remains behind, concerned not only about the unusually warm weather but also about dealing with her Christmas-obsessed neighbor and his family, as well as her conspiracy-obsessed in-laws-to-be. Mani stays with her, and on Christmas Eve, both the weather and fate begin to disrupt Liane's life in unexpected ways.
