Story of Women
Synopsis
Set in France during World War II, the story follows Marie Latour, a mother of two who struggles to make ends meet. To support herself, she performs underground abortions and rents a room to a familiar prostitute. She pays little attention to her husband, who has returned from the war due to an injury, and instead focuses on her own life. As abortions begin to generate a steady income, Marie finds ways to alleviate her boredom, including beginning a relationship with a young lover.
