Synopsis
On the outskirts of the city, near the water, lies an arterial road leading to Beirut’s international airport. Most of the houses along this road are illegal constructions, hastily built to accommodate life alongside the thoroughfare. Karam Ghossein, who also works as a cameraman for other video artists from Lebanon, combines footage from a commissioned production he shot for a friend’s wedding in 2004 with current-day street impressions. Past events blend with present observations, creating a kaleidoscope of stories unfolding along this highway.
