Synopsis
Miguel "Sugar" Santos, a 19-year-old from the Dominican Republic, shares the aspirations of many young men in his home country by dreaming of a career in American baseball. His skills as a pitcher earn him a position on a single-A team in Iowa, but he faces significant challenges, including culture shock, racism, and other obstacles that threaten to undermine his ambitions.
