Sunspring

Sunspring is a short film depicting three individuals living in a strange, futuristic setting, possibly aboard a space station, and likely involved in a love triangle. The setting is suggested to be the future through visual and narrative cues, including H (played by Thomas Middleditch of *Silicon Valley*), who wears a shiny gold jacket and exhibits neurotic behavior; H2 (Elisabeth Gray), who interacts with computers; and C (Humphrey Ker), who declares he must "go to the skull" before placing his face into a series of green lights. The film resembles a typical sci-fi B-movie, with an incoherent plot. However, it was not written by human screenwriters but entirely by an artificial intelligence. Specifically, it was authored by a recurrent neural network known as a long short-term memory network, or LSTM. The AI referred to itself as Benjamin.
