Synopsis

Who could forget the *Favorites* character Sváko Ragan, portrayed with unforgettable originality by Jozef Kroner? The three-part television film *Sváko Ragan*, based on stories by Ela Sándor, quickly gained popularity upon its initial release many years ago. It offered not only entertainment but also a charming depiction of the Myjava region, rich in rustic Alpine traditions, distinctive characters, and humorously rendered local dialects, particularly Myjavský and Brezovský. Above all, the character of Sváko Ragan was defined by his remarkable ability to invent and improvise, even in the most awkward situations. The Brezovský tanners were known not only for the quality of their goods but also for their success in showcasing them at fairs. Highly active at fairs and markets in nearby and distant areas such as Nachod, they ensured that Sváko Ragan's business ventures were full of adventure, bringing both cheerful and less cheerful "deals."

How many hands made this film

The scale of the collaboration

Principal cast & crew: 17

These are the principals we have on file — the full crew ran to the hundreds. Every film this size was made by far more hands than any credits list ever names.

Why a floor?

This is a minimum, not a total. We only count the credits we’ve captured so far, and coverage is uneven — a blockbuster might show a few hundred names while another of the same size shows a couple dozen. The real crews all ran into the thousands. The number here only grows as full credits are enriched — so we frame it as a floor, never a headcount.
