Synopsis
The film is set in a whimsical fairy-tale town, where the protagonist, scientist Christian-Theodore, uncovers many secrets about the city's eccentric residents. He becomes fascinated by the princess, though he is unaware that he has also caught the attention of the gentle young woman Annunziata. Christian-Theodore soon finds himself entangled in palace conspiracies and schemes. A shadow that appears to him tempts him into a cowardly decision—rejecting the princess. The shadow then courts the princess and seeks to eliminate Christian-Theodore. However, as is typical in a true fairy tale, the story concludes on a positive note. With the support of Annunziata's love and the townspeople's sympathy for the scientist's desire to bring happiness to all, Christian-Theodore is ultimately rescued.
