Synopsis
Hammer, the flagship company of British popular cinema, experienced a period of greatness, decline and renaissance, primarily from 1955 to 1968. Its films featured tortured women and sadistic monsters in oppressive scenarios, presented in provocative productions that shocked censorship authorities and disgusted critics, while captivating the public. These movies depicted horror in striking visual styles, telling dreadful stories without restraint, offering fear, blood, sex and notable performances.
