Synopsis
On Thursday, November 7, 1991, Earvin "Magic" Johnson drew attention at the Forum in Inglewood, California. This time, however, it was not due to his basketball achievements as a perennial NBA All-Star and three-time MVP. Instead, the 32-year-old influential point guard held a press conference to announce that he had tested positive for HIV and would be retiring from basketball immediately.
