The Arrival
Synopsis
The first film in Peter Tscherkassky's Cinemascope trilogy is a fragmented visual experience, marked by images that pulse with chaotic rhythm as they compete with white margins for space within his composition. Mirrored frames are divided by these white edges, attempting to reassemble like the opposing ends of a magnet. A train approaches a station and collides with itself, creating a moment of white-hot, blistering chaos.
