The Ball Game
Synopsis
The Reading pitcher from Pennsylvania allows a Newark batter to reach first base via a walk. The camera is positioned approximately twenty feet from first base, capturing the runner's satisfied grin as he touches the base and rises onto his toes in pursuit of second. The next batter hits the first pitch for a double, launching toward second base with impressive speed. The first baseman narrowly misses a chance to tag him out, creating a tense moment. A coach on the field shouts, prompting the umpire to approach and make a ruling. Meanwhile, a small boy runs past behind the catcher, near the grandstand where the crowd is visibly agitated. It is an engaging scene, presented with skill.
