Synopsis
Mystery writer Cornelia Van Gorder rents a country house known as "The Oaks," which was recently the site of murders committed by a strange and violent criminal called "The Bat." The house's owner, bank president John Fleming, had embezzled one million dollars in securities and hidden the proceeds within the property, but he is killed before he can recover the money.
