Synopsis
In the early 1980s, when the AIDS epidemic emerged, Dr. Mathilde Krim and Elizabeth Taylor chose to take action, founding amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research. Their collaboration marked a turning point in the fight against HIV. *The Perfect Host* explores how these two influential yet distinct women united their efforts and what they accomplished together. Elizabeth Taylor used her celebrity status to challenge government inaction, while Krim's scientific expertise guided support toward the most effective research initiatives. Today, the only man cured of AIDS owes his recovery to research promoted by Mathilde Krim. This visually striking and emotionally engaging story provides a fresh perspective on the ongoing battle against AIDS.
