The Best Intentions
Synopsis
The film depicts Ingmar Bergman's parents, with Henrik Bergman studying for the priesthood while trying to make ends meet when he meets the affluent Anna. Despite their social differences, they fall in love, marry and relocate to the countryside, where Henrik works as a priest. Their quiet life is soon disrupted as Anna, longing for a more lavish lifestyle, experiences marital stress due to the simple people and plain surroundings.
