The Breaks
Synopsis
Three friends, bonded by their passion for hip-hop, strive to leave their mark on the music industry. In the summer of 1990 in New York City, Nikki, a talented recent college graduate, turns down a law school scholarship to chase her dream of becoming a record executive. She teams up with David, the son of a legendary music producer and her boyfriend, who is working at the city's top R&B radio station. Dee Vee, an aspiring music producer, joins them in their quest, determined to discover the next big rapper on the rise.
