The Cakemaker
Synopsis
Thomas, a young German baker, is in an affair with Oren, an Israeli man who is married and frequently travels to Berlin for business. When Oren dies in a car accident in Israel, Thomas goes to Jerusalem to find answers about his death. Assuming a false identity, Thomas moves into the life of Anat, Oren’s newly widowed wife, who runs a small café in downtown Jerusalem. He begins working for her, making German pastries that help revitalize her business. As he becomes more involved in Anat’s life than he anticipated, Thomas finds himself stretching his deception further, eventually reaching a point from which there is no return.
