The Carlos Benede Story

Carlos Benede is in his thirties and single. He works with minors who are dealing with the after-effects of crime. Alexander, an eleven-year-old boy who is strong-willed and precocious, witnesses the horrific death of his mother at the hands of his father. Benede mentors Alexander, and the two develop a bond. However, once the trial of Alexander's father concludes, it becomes time for them to part ways. Alexander is initially placed in the care of his aunt, but when she is no longer able to care for him, a new caregiver must be found. An unconventional counselor from the youth welfare office learns of Alexander's trust in Benede, who himself grew up in a home, and arranges for the two to be reunited. Although the relationship is not always easy, it grows and deepens into one resembling that of a father and son.
