The Cement Garden

After the death of her husband, the mother of Julie, Jack, Sue, and Tom begins to suffer from a mysterious illness. Knowing she will soon need to be hospitalized, she opens a bank account for the children to ensure their financial independence and prevent them from being placed in state care. She later dies, and Julie and Jack, the older teenage siblings, decide to hide her body in the basement to maintain control over their household. As time passes, Tom begins to dress as a girl, while Sue grows increasingly quiet, confiding only in her diary. Meanwhile, Jack and Julie develop feelings for each other. However, Julie's new boyfriend, Derek, becomes suspicious of Jack and threatens to uncover the family's dark secrets.
