The Chair Carrier
Synopsis
Sayed is a defeated man living in the slums of old Cairo, where he is constantly exposed to government propaganda. He encounters an ancient Egyptian porter carrying a throne and wandering in search of his lost king. Inspired, Sayed longs to sit on the throne himself, even for just five minutes, to experience what it feels like. The film serves as a political allegory, examining the self-imposed oppression prevalent in third world nations.
