Synopsis
Werner Herzog documents the journey of mountaineers Hans Kammerlander and Reinhold Messner as they attempt to climb the Gasherbrum mountains, known for some of the most challenging peaks in the world, without the aid of oxygen tanks. Throughout the film, Herzog also explores their past climbing experiences, personal tragedies, and the motivations behind their deep commitment to mountaineering.
