The Defenders: Payback
Synopsis
This television movie is a remake of the 1960s courtroom drama series *The Defenders*. Following the death of his eldest son and his law firm partner, Lawrence Preston, the senior partner at Preston and Preston, recruits his granddaughter, M.J., a former prosecutor, and his other son, Don, a law professor, to continue the firm's mission of ensuring that every individual accused of a crime receives a proper defense. In this telefilm, a father kills the rapist of his young daughter after the man is released from prison and returns to his former neighborhood. The Prestons take on the case despite the father's unrepentant attitude and refusal to assist the attorneys in identifying any legally mitigating factors for his actions.
