The Edge of All We Know

Black holes represent the boundary of human understanding. To investigate this frontier, the Event Horizon Telescope connects observatories around the world to create a virtual instrument the size of Earth. Using this system, the team achieved the first-ever image of a black hole, which was viewed by billions in April 2019.
