The Exchange Student
Synopsis
Monsieur Bosquier, who runs a private school, becomes displeased after his eldest son Philippe fails his end‑of‑year examinations. He arranges for Philippe to travel to England to improve his English, planning an exchange in which the host family’s daughter Shirley, whose father Mac Farrel is a wealthy whisky distiller, will stay with the Bosquiers in France. Philippe instead chooses to spend the summer holidays on a yacht with friends and sends another student, Michonnet, to England as his substitute. The deception is soon uncovered, and complications increase when Philippe and Shirley fall in love and travel to Scotland to marry.
