Synopsis
In this fact-based made-for-TV film, Gary Gilmore, an Indiana man who has recently completed a long prison sentence, attempts to rebuild his life by moving to Utah. Soon after, he becomes involved in a troubled romance with Nicole Baker, a teenage single mother. As their relationship deteriorates, Gary embarks on a violent spree that results in the deaths of two people. During his trial, he insists on being sentenced to the death penalty, leading to a media frenzy and attempts by outsiders to capitalize on his story.
