Synopsis
Female genital mutilation is a criminal offense in the UK, yet it is estimated that approximately 20,000 young women each year remain at risk of undergoing the procedure. Despite the ban, which has been in place for over 30 years, there have been no successful convictions. This documentary, presented by reporter Cathy Newman, follows the efforts of DCI Leanne Pook and her team as they work to address the issue in Bristol.
