The Gamble

The gamble follows Paddy and Jean O Connor as they set out to realise a life-long ambition. Paddy went to England to find work in the 50s, where he met Jean and they were soon married. When they moved back to Ireland in the 70s, they found a house in the country and decided to breed and train a champion greyhound. The story follows the greyhounds from birth to their first race. Beautifully paced and structured, The Gamble is a wonderful story of ordinary lives and fulfilled dreams.
