Synopsis
Due to a local blood feud, a peasant family decides to sell its sheep—an invaluable asset—in distant Ankara. During their lengthy train journey, they are forced to pay bribes to minor officials, some sheep are stolen, others die in the crowded, airless train cars, and the ailing wife of one of the family's sons worsens and becomes deathly ill.
