The Investigator
Synopsis
In 1989, *Caroline Meagher* is a sergeant in the Royal Military Police with 12 years of experience, stationed in Northern Ireland. She is subjected to a four-day interrogation by two officers from internal affairs after being accused of being a lesbian, a charge that could result in a court martial. Through a series of flashbacks, the film portrays her initial enthusiasm upon joining the force, her various assignments—including investigating suspected lesbians—and her gradual realization of her own sexual identity. Like others in similar situations, she must take significant measures to avoid detection. The film concludes with Meagher commenting on camera.
