The Keep

Synopsis
Set during World War II, a German army garrison is stationed in a village in Romania's Carpathian mountains to guard a strategic mountain pass, establishing their barracks in an ancient stone fortress. Two of the soldiers accidentally release a mysterious entity that begins to kill or corrupt those within its influence, prompting the interest of a Gestapo commander, a Jewish scholar, and a mysterious traveler.
