During a pivotal moment in the Iran-Contra affair, Elena McMahon, an intrepid investigative journalist covering the 1984 U.S. presidential campaign, places herself at risk by leaving her assigned duties to honor the final request of her dying father, a man whose enigmatic past she knows little about.
